Student Cultural Exchange Programme under UGC "Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Campaign" with Pairing State Institute of Rural Management (IRMA), Anand Gujarat

The Ministry of Education, Government of India, under “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav- Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” selected Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg Chhattisgarh for a Five day students Cultural Exchange Program with Gujarat from 26-30 July 2022. Under this scheme 25-25 students were selected from different schools and colleges and 02 per institute. Mansi Butte, MSc III Semester, Microbiology and Manish Panika, BCom II Year represented from Shri Shankaracharya Mahavidyalaya Junwani, Bhilai (C.G.). The tour was organised with pairing institution Institute of Rural Management (IRMA) Anand, Gujarat. The motive behind organizing this tour was to enlighten the students about the cultural heritage, ethnicities and the wide range of both ancient as well as modern knowledge of both the states. In these five days, students visited multiple cultural heritage sites like Statue of Unity, Sardar Sarovar Dam, Sabarmati Ashram, Museum and Robotics, Scientific Stimulation, Aquatic World, Rudabai Stepwell, Imax 3D Theatre and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Memorial. Both Mansi Butte & Manish Panika not only enjoyed but learned a lot in this entire tour and also made the college as well as Chhattisgarh proud by representing it on multiple platforms. They also participated in many cultural programs and due to this active participation Manish Panika, got the opportunity of speaking and exemplifying chhattisgarh via an Interview with Hulchul TV News. Anand. Dr. J. Durga Prasad Rao, Incharge Principal and Dr. Archana Jha, Vice Principal, Shri Shankaracharya Mahavidyalaya, acknowledged this tour by saying that it had everything, it was an educational, recreational, comprehending and inspiring. They said that such initiatives should be continued in the near future.
