Department of English

The Department of English was established in the year 1997 since the inception of the college. English being a highly acclaimed link language invites special interest of the young and the promising students from all over the country. It is a well known fact that the rich tradition of English literature has influenced the literaturesof the world. With this view in mind M.A. course was introduced in the department in 2002.

The Department of English covers, enriches and reinforces the rich heritage offered by literature, facilitate ideas that provoke, produce and nurture critical as well as creative thinking, develops inherent values and builds an emotional and intellectual connectivity between the studentsand thesociety. The curriculum for both UG and PG programmes develop rich talents in students, offers industrial environment and is relevant, connecting to every aspect of society. A dynamic environment coupled with a meaningful stress on all-round educational effectiveness facilitates an attitude that lays emphasis on moral, social and intellectual ethics.

TRIBUTE TO SIR WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE ON HIS 400TH DEATH ANNIVERSARY

Shakespeare's skit titled "ROMEO & JULIET" and "MACBETH" a tribute to Sir William Shakespeare as 2016 the world will commemorate 400 years of his death. The skit was played by students of different streams; they put their performance to show how they are been taught and nurtured by these practical performance.

GUEST LECTURE ON IMPORTANCE OF VALUE OF EDUCATION & BOOK FAIR

Shri Shankaracharya Mahavidyalaya organized guest lecture on importance of value of education by ISKON (International Society For Krishna Consciousness). Program started by enlightening of light in front of goddess Saraswati followed by Saraswati Vandana. Chief Guest of the program were College Principal Dr.Raksha Singh, Additional Director Dr.J. Durga Prasad Rao, Vivek Thakur and Dr. Abhijeet Patil from ISKON.
